We are delighted to inform you that the annual Australian Pedal Car Grand Prix will be run over a 1.1km course through the streets of Coleraine on Saturday 14th October 2023 between 2pm and 4pm. Scrutineering of the pedal cars will take place between 12noon and 1pm.

It is important that when you enter Coleraine from the Hamilton end (west), you can park in Whyte Street or alternatively please turn Left into Robertson Street and park in and around McLeod Street, Young Street, Read Street, Henty Street to unload your pedal car ready for scrutineering.

A street parade of vehicles will follow scrutineering, giving the public a chance to view each vehicle and vote for the best decorated car. The winning team will be presented with the Thomas Hull Trophy.

Junior and Senior teams must ensure a parent or guardian countersigns the second page of the Terms and Conditions form. All forms and entry fees must be submitted by 29th September to avoid the $50 late entry penalty fee.

This event is a fundraiser for charities of team choice. Please download the sponsorship form to help us raise money for these great organisations. Fundraising is the ethos of the Australian Pedal Car Grand Prix, so please endeavour to raise sponsorship dollars for your team to donate to your chosen charity.  A special award will be presented to the team with the highest sponsorship total.

Here is the way it works: Beginning at 1 pm sharp, all participant teams are invited to nominate one driver and one pusher to complete one circuit of the track. The fastest time recorded wins the cash prize. This race will be conducted within the same categories as the main race ie Junior, Open and Elite. The cash prize will be $50 for each category. Each individual car will be sent off at 2-minute intervals within their group and there will be about 8 minutes before the next group commences their race.

Entry fees for the “Hot Lap” are included in the main race entry fee.
